"The Spanish Steps" Spanish Steps - Piazza di Spagna Tip by Venturingnow
Spanish Steps - Piazza di Spagna, Rome: 307 reviews and 498 photos
The cultural meeting ground for modern day Rome, these historical steps are a blast from the past in the shopping district of new Rome. I shall use the famous guidebook phrase to describe the steps. "Designed by an Italian, paid for by the French, named for the Spaniards, occupied by the British, and currently under the sway of American ambassador-at-large Ronald McDonald." The steps were designed for a simple reason, to link the locales on top of the hill, to those below it in the piazza. This is now the location to sit and relax while courting those who meet your fancy.
