In 1907, eleven years before annexation into Gary in 1918, Miller incorportated as a town. In the summer of 1910, the town before voted unanimously to approve construction of this two-story brick town hall. In 1920 it was refurbished as a firehouse. Revonvation work in the mid 1970s led to the building's listing on the National Register of Historic Places. A recent $83,000 grant ensures more renovations, the plan is for the building to house a community center and a public office for the local pols.
