"Amparo,Near Ponta Do Pargo" Ribeira Brava Hotel Tip by ghislain69

Ribeira Brava Hotels: 3 reviews and 3 photos

Hidden in a narrow lane off the road to Ponto do Pargo on the far western tip of the island, these small detached bungalows are ideal for anyone in need of peace and seclusion. Each of the four bungalows is set apart from the others within the terraced gardens and has a private patio with splendid sea views. An added bonus for walkers and country lovers is that the scenic terrain starts right from their doorstep.

The bungalows are simply but adequately furnished and inside each there is an open- plan kitchenette equipped with a two ring hob and fridge and enough utensils, crockery and cutlery for four people. This opens onto a living room furnished with a dining table and chairs, sofabed and easy chairs.

There is also a separate bedroom and shower room and both the living room and bedroom have heaters for use in the evenings of the cooler months (the bungalows stand some 400 metres above sea level, and whilst this altitude grants them beautiful views, it is fair to point out that temperatures may be a little fresher than down on the coast).

Daily provisions can be bought from the small shops in Ponto do Pargo, just over three kilometres away, where there are also some small restaurants but there is a larger supermarket at Calheta, a thirty minute drive away. Bungalows D'Amparo are perfect for nature lovers seeking a peaceful holiday away from all the trappings of commercialism and modern day stress.
