  $50 USD worth, maybe...

Favorite thing: Kyat is the true local currency which, last time I checked, was trading at 800 to the dollar. The largest bill in circulation is a 1000 kyat note. (About $1.20 USD) So, even in the largest denominations, you will be packing a huge wad of bills....

This can be somewhat inconvenient/amusing for a traveller visiting for a few weeks, but I have some friends who live in Yangon and do business there. (All transactions are pretty much cash) When they make their cash drop-offs at the bank each week, they need to carry several large SUITCASES to carry all the cash.

If you want to get a glimpse of how the locals live, just hang out at bank for a while, and watch the local business men lugging these huge suitcases in the front door....
