"Healesville Sanctuary" Healsville Sanctuary Tip by Kate-Me

Healsville Sanctuary, Melbourne: 4 reviews and 4 photos

The Healesville Sanctuary is a bit less than an hour's drive through the city and out of Melbourne, into the area of the Yarra Valley (famous for its wineries)
If you're into wildlife, no visit to Melbourne, or indeed Victoria would be complete without a visit to this Sanctuary. It's definitely not like a zoo where everything is in cages. This is more like open walk through the bird aviaries, the lyrebird enclosures, some other animal enclosures to. There's also the reptile house (NOT a walk through, happily!) see the special darkened platypus enclosure in the reptile house, wander among kangaroos, emus, and much much more (see Travelogue, Healesville pages)

Address: Badger Creek Road, Healesville, Vic. 3777
