Just outside of Edgware is the initial motorway madness that is pre-M25 Hertfordshire. However, some of these areas house nice little villages, nicest of all perhaps being Letchmore Heath. Famed for its Hare Krishna temple, funded by George Hari-Hari-Harrison, it has a lovely pond, gree, and a nice pub. Full of suburbanites with Volvos but ya can't have it all. Near Borehamwood, Moat Mount and scratchwoods are nice woodland areas but don't go there after dark - nude men run around at night. Unless that's your thing of course, but it is near the ex-nuthouse of Shenley. A mate's mate reckons he was asked by a hedgehog (yes, a hedgehog, spikey animal thing) wearing sunglasses and a denim jacket if he could lend him ten pence for the phone up here once, although I think chemistry may have been involved here, and I don't mean it was love at first sight. Someone probably spiked his drink!
