I knew the foodcourt chain "La Place" from several lunches in Amsterdam so when we were walking around Maastricht looking for food we were happy to see the "La Place" sign. Inside the V&D department store there's two La Places. One on the ground level for snacks, one on the top floor for the whole choice (La Place Marché du Monde). We went to the top floor one because the chairs looked soo comfy there. And they were. We stayed for ages because of a) the chairs, b) the knives which weren't exactly sharp and c) the freezing cold weather outside!

Favorite Dish: I always enjoyed the sandwiches here so I had a Focaccia bread filled with Thai chicken. Very tasty! And less than 4 Euros which I think is great value! You can also get other Thai stuff, pizzas, cakes, ice cream, soups, fish etc etc here.

Address: Inside the V&D department store in the city centre
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Price: less than US$10
