"Forbidden City" Forbidden City - The Palace Museum Tip by Lemonita

One of the many palaces inside the Forbidden City

Forbidden City has been home to many emperors throughout different dynaties.
It is the most well preserved palaces until today.

One third of the palace complex is open but still, it is huge enough to want to spend at least two days there. It closes quite early, around 4 or 5 PM. The best would be to get there at 8:30 AM, at the opening.

Address: North of Tiananmen Square
Directions: The easiest way & the most "imperial" way to get in would be from Tiananmen Sq. Go inside Tiananmen gate (past that huge portrait of Mao) and walk straight until you see the ticket booth (10-15 min)
