"The Menim Gate" Menin Gate Tip by bugalugs

Field Marshal Lord Plumer inaugurated the monument on 24th July 1927. Every night since 1929 the Ypres Buglars sound the 'Last Post' there at 8.00pm as a tribute to the solders.

We stayed to see and listen and there was a few hundred people attending including many school children. When the buglars started to play a hush descended on the crowd. It was very moving.
