Favorite thing: The Buddha Image of Dvaravati Period

Based on existing archaeological evidence, it is generally recognized that the city of Nakhon Chaisri was the largest and most ancient in Southeast Asia, dating back 1,200 years

Now it is known as Nakhon Pathom, it is the religious centre of the Buddhism.
The many grand stupas and Buddha statues,of stucco and stone, erected in this city, testify to the fact that in form and style the original finds were of the Dvaravati period.

The evolution of Buddhist art in Thailand can clearly be traced from this great statue. It is widely recognized that the size and proportions of the statue represent one of the finest examples of the Dvaravati style.
