Visit the city of Dunfermline in Fife and see the abbey church there with the grave of King Robert the Bruce.
Dunfermline was Scotland's capital until 1603 and there are the ruins of the 12th century abbey and palace there. The city was the seat of Malcolm III and he founded the priory which was on the site of the present Abbey church. The church has a Norman nave and 19th century choir. it contains the tombs of 22 Scottish Kings and Queens - this includes the tomb of Robert the Bruce.
