Visit the Laing museum at Newburgh. This museum was opened in 1896, it was gifted to Newburgh by Alexander laing. He left money in his will for a building to house his museum collection and reference library. The collection illustrates the various aspects of Newburgh's history from a Medieval burgh to a maritime and industrial town. There is a reconstruction of A. Laing's study. Also intersting are the archeaological exhibits from the prehistorical, ROman and Medieval times. Alexander Laing collected paintings made of local monuments and was especially intersted in the medieval abbey of Lindores.
