  Pabst Mansion
by blaird

Frederick Pabst was a sea captain, beer baron (PBR me, ASAP), real estate developer, philanthropist and patron of the arts. The mansion was completed about 1890 and home to Captain Frederick Pabst. Unbelievably, in 1975 it was almost demolished for a parking lot.

I believe the Pabst Mansion is open year round and offers a few tour packages.
