  Brennans Yard Hotel
by Catspjm

Really all budgets are catered for from 5 star luxury to back packer’s hostels. Where possible I tend to stay in locally owned hotels and stay away from the international chains. But at the end of the day, 'you pays your money and you takes your choice.'
If your budget can stretch to it, The Great Southern Hotel in Eyre Square is a wonderful experience, particularly at Christmas. Old World charm and hospitality combined with one of the best restaurants in Galway. Currently being renovated (I’m told ‘sympathetically’) it reopens in spring 2003
Brennan's Yard hotel is a medium budget choice, offering a great central location and superb value for money. Ask for one of the few rooms with a balcony (there are at no extra charge) overlooking the port.
Kinlay House hostel: 30 seconds from the Great Southern with another great location. Budget accommodation that is clean, friendly and safe. Dorms available along with a few en-suite double rooms. Booking well in advance is advised.

Address: All in the centre of things
