Old Miami: "Great Dive Bar" Detroit Nightlife Tip by sambarnett

Detroit Nightlife: 51 reviews and 26 photos

I really liked this place. A weird combination of Vietnam-vets (some pretty shell-shocked) and punk rockers. Everyone seemed right friendly though, we even sold a CD to guy who later told us he didn't even have a CD player. A couple Vets said this place was their protest against Ronald Reagan and how he treated the American people and the people of the world. The owner was going to give us Tigers tickets (this was, of course, when they played at the beautiful, old Tiger Stadium.) My bandmates weren't interested, I still hate them for that. They had us park behind an iron gate, we talked to some hookers and smoked pot from behind that gate. I defintely wanna drink here when I visit Detroit again.

Dress Code: Whatever.
