"I went there by airplane. No..." Egypt Transportation Tip by borcsi

Egypt Transportation: 358 reviews and 302 photos

I went there by airplane. No problem at all. From most non-arabic countries you need a Visa to enter the country. If they say 'Welcome to Asia!' to you, don't be staggered, they meant Africa of course. (Geography is not the best taught subject in schools probably.. :))
Taxi is the best to get around, although traffic in Cairo is a NIGHTMARE!!! If you are brave enough and speak some arabic then you may try public transport for a change, anyway won't be too lucky with it. Taxi is cheap, and can be found just anywhere. Negotiate the price before you start, because the taximeter in the car is for decoration only. If you want higher class of service (and an English speaking driver), use the hotel taxis.
