  Heart of the Village
by yooperprof

This is a popular hangout for "eastside" Marquetters and the college crowd. One of the nifty things about Marquette is the mile long section of Third Street that is known as "the Village." People who live on the east side of town (like Yooperprof) love to stroll up and down the street. It's a practical place - not one of those cutesy twee touristy neighborhoods - but "the Village" has a great pedestrian feel to it and is refreshingly free of national chains and cookie-cutter franchises. Stop in Third Street Bagel to get a feel for the heart of Marquette.
