"Despite the weather" Guilin Things to Do Tip by Sharrie

Rain or shine, you have to take a cruise along this 83-km of the Li River between Guilin & Yangshuo.
The crystal clear water, the overlapping green hills & the fantastic caves & rocks are beyond descriptions!
The generally are 2 types of cruise.
One for the foreigners & another for the locals.
There's quite a big differential in prices. Foreigners have to pay around RMB500 while if you go on a local boat it's only about RMB170.
I managed to get onto a local boat because I happen to speak Mandarin. It's really not bad & if you think the food is lacking you can always order on your own. I enjoyed it very much & was pleased to meet 2 lady from Beijing, one of whom used to study in Japan (so we really have lots to share) & another is now working as Sales Manager in A.I.A. Guangzhou. I'm hoping to meet up with her when I visit Guangzhou next. It was really a wonderful experience to make new friends during a vacation, especially when you least expected to!
