Set in the Valley of La Orotava, Loro Parque is home to the largest collection of parrots in the world aswell as other exotic animals. The 'Loro Parque Fundacion' is a body working towards the protection of threatened and endangered species through projects worldwide.

There is alot to see so early arrival at the park is recommended. You should plan your day so you don't miss all the shows and attractions. The shows occur at allocated times so make sure you get to each one 15 minutes early to get the best seats.

Also, spend a little time at 'Thai Village'. This is the largest traditional Thai construction ever built outside Thailand. Get out your camera!

When booking your ticket, it's worth paying a bit extra for an additional 'Discovery Tour'. This is where a park guide will take you behind the scenes of all the animals. You'll see how they are looked after and how much work goes into maintaining them. It's interesting and educational.

The park is open everyday from 8.30am till 5pm.
