"The Statue of Liberty" Statue of Liberty - Ellis Island Tip by littlesam1

  Statue of Liberty

I took this picture back in 1989. The Statue of Liberty is a beautiful statue in its own rite. But its symbolic value is even greater. Every time I see it I think about my ancestors who came to the United States from Germany and from Ireland and what they must have thought when they first saw it. It really stirs great emotion and even more so today after all that has happened since September 11.
