Florence was founded by the Romans in the first century B.C. and was called "Florentia", the florid. And throughout history, Florence has flourished as a city of art, culture and international trading, reaching its zenith in the fifteenth century.

You can spend weeks in Florence and not get through with everything there is to visit... Great architecture, fantastic churches and wonderful museums!

Visit the Duomo, the Campanile, the chuches and museums, the Ponte Vecchio and all those other sites described in the guidebooks - it is well worth it!
