This is an impresive phantome mud brick city left in the middle of the desert. The city was forgotten 200 years ago when its ihabitans left it to the mercy of dessert and weather, but its fragil materials have survived as if it where left yesterday.
It was an important commerce city in the middle of no where in the way of the Silk road to India.
There is now a little town around the city that lives from its oasis and tourism.
They are restoring now and rebuilding some of the buildings like mosqs, Bazars and other hand craft factories.
The remaind of the city are impresive, there are left several walls and the whole city even quads and it fort in the middle of the site.

Bam is on the way from Kerman to Pakistan, about 3 hours from kerman, you can arrange to do a day trip or eve overnight in the village of bam out of the ruins. there is a little airport but no service is held.

On the way down or up to bam from Kerman there is a town called Mahan its worth stoping, there is a great mosk and a palace, full of green and colours. Also on the road There are some Caravanserais.
