Johor Bahru Off The Beaten Path: 25 reviews and 34 photos
Desaru is developed into a beach resort with white sandy beaches for resting and relaxing. It is dangerous to swim in the sea as it is the South China sea with very strong waves, especially at the end of the year. Dun forget to bring your sunblock too! It can get really hot.
To get to Desaru, it is better to have a car for the convenience. Near Desaru, there's excellent and cheap seafood at Sungei Ringgit which is about 30km from Desaru. It is a small town with numerous seafood restaurant and some with views overlooking to Singapore.
Come to think about it, Desaru might be a place for surfers with the huge and strong waves. I am not a surfer, so I do not really know the dangers and requirements for surfing. I only know surfers want big waves. Desaru is a place popular with the locals only and surfing is not our usual sports. Maybe some surfers can check it out and tell me about it.
