Basil: "Spicy Thai" Basil Thai Tip by wrldtravler
Basil Thai, San Francisco: 4 reviews and 3 photos
Artfully presented, traditional Thai food at a hip SOMA eatery.
A stylish, comfortable restaurant nestled deep in SOMA, Basil's industrial sheen and clean, bright interior make it a good bet for first dates and visiting relatives.
Favorite Dish: Hearty grilled dishes (marinated lamb, half chicken), as well as great bar food such as turnip cakes (the root is steamed and mashed, then fried into perfect little rectangles), cooling cucumber salad enlivened by red onion and radish, and curried potatoes in a velvety smooth coconut-milk sauce.
