Andalu: "Small plates, big flavors at this chic tapas spot." Andalu - CLOSED Tip by wrldtravler

Under a vaulted, sky-blue ceiling overlaid with the images of clouds, window booths give way to intimate tables for two.
At the back of the restaurant, a long bar is adorned, tiara-like, with three dozen glittering, antique lead-glass seltzer bottles.
Chef Ben de Vries' tapas are almost recklessly eclectic, drawing together nine distinct cuisines, from Japanese to Swiss. The menu says small plates, but the flavors are huge; de Vries' lavish use of herbs, oils and pork products can be so rich at times that the food is overwhelmed with flavor.

Favorite Dish: Try the beautifully textured carpaccio of veal dressed with a tuna-anchovy emulsion. Then move on to the dark and smoky glazed chicken yakitori skewers and the seared scallops brought to earth with truffled leeks.
