It still exist in Kaunas! there are at least two funiculars. One of them is functioning (Aleksotas funicular), from the city you should go by car Aleksotas bridge and go up with a funiculair (that's anexperience!) from the up of the hill splendid panoramic views of the old town appear. The best place to take photos from above! It's quite close to the Old Town, you can see it on the other side of river from Vytautas Church.
Another funiculair is just a pass from Laisves Aleja (Zaliakalnis funiculair), sometimes in summer it's functioning also. the thing is it was built in.. 1937

Directions: Aleksotas funikulair that takes you up to a sight-seeing square for great panoramic shots is quite close to the Old Town, you need to cross Aleksotas bridge.
