Greek Orthodox story varies from the rest of the Christian world in that this 17th century church (replacing earlier manifestations) is built on the site where the Angel Gabriel reportedly visited Mary while she was fetching water (and not at the site of the Church of Ascension down the road).
Its a small church, but, like all Grekk Orthodox churches, is incredibly ornate inside.
