Havre de Grace Things to Do: 37 reviews and 90 photos

Another museum is located at the old Lock House. Here you will find the Susquehanna Lock House Museum. Here you can walk along the water front. See a restored lock from the old canel which went from Havre de Grace up north to Pennsylvania. Inside the lock house you will find exhibits on Havre de Grace history. The house itself is from 1836 and is the original home of the lock tender who opened the lock and collected tolls. Before becoming a historical site and museum the house was a private home for many years. How do I know this? Because my fathers cousin lived here for many years from the 1950's - 1970's.

Here is a picture of the lock keepers house. In the very corner of the picture you can see a part of the lock its self. It looks bridge going over the canal. It has been restored to working order.
