"THE Venitian Glass" Murano Glassware Tip by Maeniel

Murano Glassware, Venice: 44 reviews and 62 photos

Not so much one shop as a series of shops. Take your pick, they are all pretty much the same, plying the same glass-blowing trade that is famous the world over.

What to buy: Glass. You can buy just about any price range artwork here, from a small ornament as a present to a large piece for the hallways of the rich and famous. I bought a small glass rose and that was good enough for me. I did see a grand piece involving an orchestra on stage with all of the instruments and players, crowd, the works! Of course, the budget matched the piece, but it looked fantastic!

What to pay: There are no really expensive shops as they all compete really well. If you want a big piece though, you will pay for the luxury. My rose cost $10. The orchestral set piece: $1000 and up.

Address: Island of Murano near the water bus stop is best.
Directions: Get off of the stop and follow your canal to your right where it dropped you off. Can't miss it.
