This is a lovely "elevated" walk - in the sense that it takes you all over and around the fortified part of Dubrovnik waking along the old city walls. The walls encircle the entire town: they were built between the 8th and 16th century - and take you past some 6 forts or bastions, 3 round towers and 12 square towers and several rocky beaches. The place to start it is from Pile Gate - from there you can buy the ticket (15 kn) to access the walls. Done this? Then you can start the walking tour - anti-clockwise!
