This is a delightful valley settled around the famous Huon River after which the legendary Huon Pine is named.
If you're looking for a day out or a week away from it all, you could do a lot worse than spend it here.
The Tahune State Forest (see details elsewhere), arts and crafts, jam factories, caves, thermal pools and lots of rustic housing and quaint villages can be found here. One of the main towns is Geeveston, named after the Geeves family who settled here in 1847.

Directions: Just south of Hobart

Review Helpfulness: 3.5 out of 5 stars
