Bar 5 (five?): "Cheese on a stick!" Manchester Nightlife Tip by Leipziger

Manchester Nightlife: 215 reviews and 254 photos

Bar 5 is wonderful if you like to people watch as you will find a complete cross-section of Manchester society there (monied peoples aside), from students to desperate housewives on tour. The music is excellent if you like your seventies and eighties pop, and there is nearly always room to express yourself on the dance floor. Importantly, the drinks are very reasonably priced and the entry is FREE. A quick word of warning though - Bar 5 is best approached if you are somewhere to the left of sober. Also, if you pull in there - you may wish to review your choice in the morning! That aside there's a lot of fun to be had here.

Dress Code: Was no trainers, no jeans, but this has been changed I think.

Address: just off St.Anns Square, opposite the Rat & Parrot
Directions: between Cross St and St.Anns Square, behind the HSBC
Theme: People Watching
