"Elephant Rides" Angkor Wat Off The Beaten Path Tip by sunnywong

Angkor Wat Off The Beaten Path: 112 reviews and 164 photos

During the day, ridable elephants usually await paying customers on the south side of Bayon though they are sometimes at the South Gate. In the evenings the elephants are stationed at the base of Phnom Bakheng, ready to climb the hill for sunset. Rides costs from $10-$15. (@2001)Tip: During the mid-afternoon the handler sometimes takes the elephants to the small lake near Phreah Pithu for a bath. It is an interesting and picturesque sight.
