The nearest grocer remains a main source of foodstuffs for most Krakow dwellers though a great many of them opt for purchases by cartload in one of the mushrooming ‘hipermarkets’. There are also loyal patrons of marketplace stalls trading in fresh farm products. Anyway, local staples generally hold their ground against imports, though the latter have largely taken to themselves the up-market niches.
There is store called Delikatesy with food in the West wall of the Main Market Square.

What to buy: Polish beer: Zywiec or Tyskie.

What to pay: Bread loaf is $1 or less, a six-pack of the Polish beer $3, kilogram of domestic apples $0.50 or so, kilogram of the imported French cheese some $12.

Address: Rynek Glowny
Directions: Left to Hawelka and Tetmarowska restaurants in west wall of the Main Market Square - close to its NW corner.
Theme: Food and Drink
