This Royal Palace was first mentioned in 14th century. After completely destruction by a fire August the Strong rebuilt it in 1701. Between 1899-1901 the building was rebuilt in Neo-Renaissance-style. Heavy destroyed in World War Two the Royal Palace has been started to rebuild in 1985 and is supposed to be finished in 2006.
I was working here in 2005 for two weeks in order to transcript old weather data. Had the chance to visit even parts of places ordianry tourists cannot see. However, highlight was the "Grünes Gewölbe" as well as the great view from the tower.
