The East Wing is the newest addition to the National Gallery of Art. The building is unique..having been designed by I.M.Pei...The French will know him from the Louvre. The East Wing often houses more contemporary art. Such unique architecture..you really should see it. There are glass structures between the buildings...which are windows to see below ground. The cafeteria underground has an entire wall which is a waterfall. Very innovative. . . especially considering that it is 20 or so years old already.
