  Lake near the Continental Divide
by Ischyros

Trail Ridge Road takes you over the Continental Divide. Although it's not the only continental divide in the United States (I live very close to one here in Indiana), it is the one most people think of when they think of the Continental Divide. Anything east of this divide flows eastward and eventually reaches the Atlantic Ocean of Gulf of Mexico. Anything west of it, flows west and eventually reaches the Pacific Ocea or Gulf of California. Not a single river or stream crosses this line! The lake in the picture is just to the east of the continental divide set beautiful in the mountains.
