Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica: 21 reviews and 26 photos
3rd Street Promenade is sort of the tourist heart of Santa Monica. It's a nice rarity in LA, because it's a pedestrian ares of shops, cafes, movie theaters...street performers. Usually I would say I hate this kind of crap, but the fact is that it works pretty well for LA. It's a stone's throw from the Santa Monica Pier (personally I never go there) and it's near hotels, etc. Summer evenings the promenade is full of families, couples, a few locals all strolling around and enjoying the cool evenings. It's pretty nice and sort of approximates a pleasant European evening stroll.
Directions: 3rd street near the ocean. Between Wilshire on the North and Broadway on the South.
