The Tower of London, also known as William the Conqueror's White Tower, is quite a unique structure to find in a city as large as London. It dates back to the 14th century and currently houses the crown jewels. The Chapel of St. John also lies inside. The wharf along the the river gives a different view of the Traitor's Gate from that enjoyed by the wretches that landed there by boat. At the Tower of London is where you find the famed Beefeaters with their picturesque garbs. They tell you a story about a superstition that states that if the Ravens that inhabit the Tower ever leave, the Tower would crumble. As such, the ravens are on the payroll. It doesn't make sense to me..silly superstitions!.
