"The Stadthuys - The house of The Governors" Melaka Favorite Tip by Audrey118

Favorite thing: The red building, Stadthuys was once the official residence of the Dutch Govenors and officers.
The Stadthuys was built around the 1600s. Believed to be the oldest Dutch building in Asia, it has incredibly weighty doors and pleasant louvred window, all the characteristic features of Dutch colonial architecture.
It is now a historical site to many tourist and houses the Museum of History and Ethography - worth going in to see some old stuff - old plates, maps etc.
