We had a room looking out on the volcano, (a junior suite) so when the clouds cleared away at 3 am, we were able to go out on the balcony and see the lava and eruptions. (I had been warned that the time the volcano 'unclouds' are usually 4-5 pm, 11pm, and 3 am. We saw the afternoon one, but were unlucky at 11 pm. I slept with on eye on the volcano, and so was able to catch it. Food was good there too. The road up to the Lodge is one way, steep and about 1 km or more in length. There is a gate keeper at the bottom. We also took a tour to the hot springs from there at night. After we arrived, we sat on the balcony and watched the birds and butterflys in the garden outside our room.
