We wanted to see Australian art, so while we were in Sydney we went to the Sydney Art Museum that is right across from the Botanical Gardens (and also one of the bus stops of the Sydney Explorer Bus). They have an interesting collection of art by Australians as well as other famous artist from other parts of the world including Rodin and many Impressionists. They also house a nice collection of Aboriginal Art, which we found to be fascinating.

There were several groups of school children in the museum the day we were there. They all wear blue wide-brimmed hats that protect them from the intense sun. There is a high incidence of skin cancer in Australia, so they require the kids to wear these hats. There are also big billboards urging people to use sun block at all times.
