Go on a whale watching trip here, we have done several in different parts of the world but this was absolutely the best whale watching trip we have ever done. Book in advance with Whale Watch ltd. This firm was established in 1987 ad began operating tours in 1989. Off the coast of kaikoura (a village steeped in Maori history) is a marine environment so rich in foodstuffs that it attracts some of the most magnificant animals of the sea. These include the giant Sperm Whale which can grow to 20 metres long. These whales are the highlight of the trip but other whales can also be sen depending on the season and the whales migratory route. You may also get to see the high spirited displays of the DUsty Dolphins (we did), the rare and endangered Hector's Dolphin, fur seals and lots of sea birds - we saw the Royal Albatross.
The firm operates daily depending on the weather and if you do not see any whales then you get a refund of up to 80%
Be warned though advanced booking is a MUST.
