"Visit the Louvre" France Things to Do Tip by Paul2001

Some people I know have managed to visit Paris without visiting the Louvre and I do not know how they do it. I think that it is the single most important site in Paris and naturally one of the most important art museums in the world.
I think most people are just intimidated by it, so they choose not to go. The Louvre collection is large but it should not frighten you off. I think it is best to attempt to see a portion at a time as the Lourvre on a whole is to vast for just one visit. Each school of art is clearly seperated as you will notice by the gallery map that you can pick up at the entrance. Go to the galleries whose works on display will most interest you. If you really have little understanding of art then take a tour. The last time I visited the Louvre I was dumbfounded by the number of people wondering around from gallery to gallery not appreciating the various collections. A tour guide will help remedy this.
