Rio de Janeiro Shopping: 115 reviews and 91 photos

Rio is certainly the capital of Brazilian fashion, holding the most famous designers and models, and fashion is without doubt the main attraction in the South Zone malls and Barra malls.
Open hours for malls are,Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00,and Sundays, from 15:00 to 21:00.
In the South Zone the main malls are "Rio Sul" and "Shopping Da Gavea",competing with the stores and smallers malls of Ipanema.
Garcia D'avila street is where you can find international names as Cartier,H.Stern,Amsterdam Sauer and Ben Bros.
After Leblon, and on the way to Barra, you have Sao Conrado, witha great fashion mall offering an excellent range of Brazilian fashion.Arriving in Barra, you have a "boom" of new malls, including Downtown,Citta' America,Barra Garden and Barra Shopping.
For a total decoration experience, visit the Rio Design Center, where you can find crafts from all over Brazil!
For antiques collectors, try in the weekends the fair at Praca XV(15th square, downtown),
Santos Dumont Square,in Gavea or the antique stores in Do Lavradio street,in Lapa.
For streets fairs, try the Hippie Fair in Ipanema,or Babylonia Hippie Fair,in Gavea.
Another tipical street fairs are the open street markets, selling fruits, vegetables, but they move around all the time, than little local knowledge is needed to know when and where one is open near your hotel,I really recomend to visit one of these markets,it's a delicious impressive mix of collors and smells!
