"A Port in the Storm" Best Western Richmond Suites Tip by keeweechic

Best Western Richmond Suites, Baton Rouge: 541 reviews and 1 photos

We hadn?t planned on staying in Baton Rouge but after getting to La Place (20 miles out of New Orleans) we were turned back as the New Orleans was flooded due to ?Isidore? hitting the coast and the main highway in was also under water. At 7.30 at night we were driving through rain and heading out of rising water and going back to Baton Rouge. There was no accommodation in the immediate area available as the power companies had totally booked everything out in anticipation of their need in New Orleans and surrounding areas. I had a Best Western hotel guide in the car and used the mobile to call and find their closest available hotel. 20 minutes later we were driving into the Richmond Suites Hotel. A very nice and well situated hotel close to I-10 and a great relief for us to find somewhere for the night

Unique Qualities: The rooms were very comfortable and quite large. There was an excellent full buffet breakfast is included the next morning and some really good Louisianan strong coffee. There are also evening beverages and hors d?oeuvres included in your room rate and free local calls and newspaper. The complex has a pool, spa and a business and fitness centre.
