Acquario: "Mediterranean Seafood Sensations" Aquario Restaurant Tip by Radiomom
Aquario Restaurant, New York City: 1 reviews and 1 photos
We stumbled on this place in the Village rather at random. It was a lovely night and the indoor/outdoor flow of the place was inviting. There are several smallish restaurants in this area, which don't take credit cards yet provide you with such an incredible value, it is worth scouting out a nearby ATM. The Italian staff (from multiple parts of Italy) is charming, friendly and very helpful.
Favorite Dish: One of the night's specials was sauteed Branzini (a Sicilian sea bass) on a bed of greens. It was first-rate. The Portugese fish stew was also fantastic. And the wine list, while limited, offers choices from Italy, France and Spain at really good prices. We had a Sicilian Red that was sunny and perfect with our food. At $23 a bottle, we found ourselves (there were 3 of us) happy to order a second bottle, as the first went down so easily. ;^) Leave room for wonderful desserts. I'll note the cost without a 2nd bottle of wine.
Address: 5 Bleeker Street (corner of Bleeker & Elizabeth)
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: Greenwich Village
