"Mobile Union Terminal" Mobile Things to Do Tip by keeweechic

A very grand building when it was opened to the public in 1907 where it served three railroads. It was originally constructed by the Mobile & Ohio but also saw service with the GM&O throughout the remainder of passenger services. It was last used as an office complex for the Illinois Central Gulf. Currently after many years of being empty and subsequently vandalised, renovation and reconstruction is now underway to make the building useable as a transportation hub which will combine bus, taxi, possibly a rail service into one facility. This picture was from the back - the front is even more impressive.
