Washington on the Brazos Historical State Park and Star of the Republic Museum
Folks, this is the birthplace of Texas - lots of history. Visit Independence Hall, a replica of the building where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed in 1836. Look around the township of Washington once the state capitol of Texas. Check out the Barrington Living History Farm with costumed staff and period livestock. Enjoy the Star of the Republic Museum - state of the art facility, housing a library, seasonal exhibits and special events.
