Most people drive to Ashford. The closest airport isn't close enough to allow for affordable taxis and a city bus, after all your transfers, would take you at least day. Cars are a MUST!!
Well, if you're going to be going out in town you'll need to use a car. In the park, you can hike, but it's a pretty long hike.
